Masivo Silver (MASS.V) Has An Impressive Nevada Project Where Historical Mining Of High-Grade Gold, Silver And Copper Happened Decades Ago
This project has only seen minimal drilling, possibly in the wrong orientation considering the mineralization since historical production around WWII.
Masivo Silver has an exciting 10-hole drill campaign ongoing in Nevada on a project that reported very high-grade gold, silver and copper mining around World War II. It is somewhat surprising that exploration projects of this quality are still available in Nevada.
Image above of a historical shaft on the project.
The limited drilling since then was done with holes that Masivo Silver believes didn’t have the correct orientation to properly understand the mineralization. So they went in with angled holes perpendicular to what they believed is the direction of the mineralized zones. Their first hole looks to have confirmed their assumptions about the mineralization and the past drilling. They hit two mineralized zones in that hole which shows their angled hole hit one zone, then continued and hit another.
Below are images of drill core from MS22-01 completed by Masivo Silver.
Another very important point about their first hole was they were testing to determine if the mineralization continued under the old mine workings. They checked that box off with their first hole as well.
Although investors today can’t rely on the numbers from the old miners because their work is not up to current reporting standards. Nonetheless, it is safe to assume they weren’t making shafts, adits and tunnels for their health, plus the prices of metals were very low back then so they had to be mining very high grades of gold, silver and copper.
Which is why going under their old mine workings, with a new model of the mineralization is so important. I did an interview with David Coburn, their CEO, and Brian Brewer, their QP geologist on February 7/2023.
Brian Brewer is a very talented geologist, he worked with Minefinders that found an impressive discovery, then the company was bought out for a big win for their shareholders. He knows what he is doing as he has done it before.
I really enjoyed the interview, because not only does Brian Brewer give investors a very good explanation of their game plan at Masivo Silver for drilling, he does it in a way that investors can clearly understand. He is not a geologist that wants to confuse investors with a lot of geospeak.
In addition, he explains things in a way that gives insights into how a talented geologist goes about exploration. This is not only an excellent interview to help investors understand Masivo Silver’s exploration efforts, it also gives investors in exploration stocks knowledge of what to look for in other companies they follow. I highly recommend my audience check out that interview linked above.
Drilling is continuing and the remaining holes are focused on geophysics, testing under old workings and geological targets. They have an excellent program outlined to test this exciting project. Their targeting methods and assessment of their work and past work is showing their models on the mineralization are accurate. Assay results are pending and should be announced fairly soon.
They used the ALS lab in Twin Falls, Idaho which is not as busy as many of the labs throughout North America for the sample preparation and assaying so they should see the assays back much faster than many other exploration companies.
Their potential to deliver excellent results with their first hole is very high. They knew there was high-grade production and drilled under the old mine working to see if the mineralization continued. It did and that puts a high probability of delivering strong grades. I also got the impression from Brian Brewer that he liked what he saw from the drill core.
They have a strong team, including Mark Bailey who was the CEO of Minerfinders where he was responsible for the discovery and development of resources totaling more than 3 million ounces of gold and 165 million ounces of silver. They ultimately were taken over by Pan American Silver Corp. for CAD $1.5 Billion in 2012.
Brian Brewer was also part of the Minefinders’ team, so the company is fortunate to have two geologists that know how to find big precious metals projects. Masivo Silver is well taken care of having Mark Bailer and Brian Brewer leading the charge in exploration.
Usually when juniors have people like this involved, and the quality of the project investors have to pay much higher valuations. The company only has 21.91 million shares out and a valuation of CAD $5.48 million.
On January 18/2023 they announced details on their first drill hole at their Nevada project. Prior to that it was a patchy trader on low volume. The stock traded as low as 17 cents that day, on unusually high volume. By February 1/2023 the stock traded up to 42 cents on higher volume.
The details of that first hole brought in a lot of hot money driving the stock to a double. As is often the case when hot money comes in, it goes out quickly as well, and that brought the stock down to 22.5 cents to trade slightly below the 50-day moving average (DMA). The selling pressure volume seems to be drying up, so it looks like all the hot money has left the building. In the past few trading days it has bounced off that low and is trading right between the 50 DMA and 200 DMA.
The trajectory of the 50 DMA is very bullish and suggests it is moving toward a Golden Cross in the next couple weeks. Which coincides with when they should get assay results back from hole MS22-01. So the chart action and drilling news are lining up nicely and since they announced details on hole MS22-01 they have gained a whole new audience.
The way things are lining up, I expect to see hole MS22-01 move them through a Golden Cross. Then the anticipation of more assay results from the 10-hole drill program will drive the 50 DMA well above the 200 DMA and the 200 DMA to turn into a bullish direction as well.
In Closing
I’m very pleased that Masivo Silver has taken me up on the offer to join the show sponsorship program at Rocks And Stocks News. This enables me to do a series of interviews when news comes out, and include them in my sector reports to keep them in front of our audience at Rocks And Stocks News.
As always my reports are for research purposes only, before making any investment decisions you should speak with your financial advisors and do your homework.
All the best,
